Jesus Christ Superstar
13 - 17 May 2014
Director and choreographer: Ray Jeffery
Musical director: Rachel Glover
The Haymarket, Basingstoke
Evenings: 7:30 pm, Saturday matinees: 2:30 pm
A stunning production of the legendary rock musical set in Roman occupied Jerusalem, during the last seven days of the life of Christ and seen through the eyes of Judas.
Director Ray Jeffery takes the musical back to its 1970's roots in this dynamic reinterpretation, with costumes set in the colourful era of flower power - a radical time when notions of faith and love were redefined.
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s score includes the well-known hits I Don’t Know How To Love Him, Everything’s Alright, King Herod’s Song, Heaven on Their Minds and of course Superstar.

Audience Feedback
“Marvellous. Only wish Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice had been in the audience. They would certainly have given many of the cast a job”
“The production was truly superb! This was our first BATS show and we were highly impressed by the quality. Wonderful casting with voices truly matching the characters, acting that portrayed the full range of emotions, choreography appropriate to the scenes and a very high standard of musical accompaniment.”
“I’ve seen the show many times over the years and yours stood out up there with the best with some excellent singers. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.”
“I wanted to congratulate the cast on a fantastic performance - it was really well done and all the main characters were excellent (singing and acting). I would highly recommend it if you’re looking to see an amateur dramatic performance”
